Remember an event a few weeks back that took place in San Francisco, the one where HP showed the world what they have been working on since the snapped up Palm for a couple billions. Well as you might recall one of those devices was the TouchPad which would be running version 3.0 of the webOS software. Needless to say many developers have been wanting to get their hands on the tools needed to create apps for the 9.7 inch tablet that will feature a 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor as well as a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and webOS’s exceptional UI and multitasking features.

Well thanks to the company’s webOS Connect festivities that took place in London yesterday, those who are signed up for the Early Access developers program will be able to get a crack at it starting now. In order to be eligible to get into the Early Access program, developers will need to have an application that was previously published in the webOS App Catalog.

While it is yet to be seen what types of apps will be available at launch, those who have access now will have plenty of time to create apps using web technologies in time for the device’s official launch in June. Well June for the U.S at least as HP has not verified a date for the UK release of the tablet.

Not only that, but webOS 3.0 will be appearing on HP notebooks and netbooks in the holiday season of this year so those developers who are interested should be aware that not only will their apps sit on a tablet, but on a computer with a mouse and keyboard. Might want to take that in when designing the next big thing for webOS.
