The Nokia 5030 XpressRadiois one of the low price range phones lined up to be released later this year. The phone looks good and is lightweight making it compact and pocket friendly. The phone will be released in 2 colors a red one and a graphite colored one. This phone is not a music phone and cannot store a music library. But it can play mp3 and polyphonic tunes. The screen measures 1.8 inches and is a TFT display with up to 65K colors.
The 5030 XpressRadio has a pretty standard numeric keypad. The phone does come with special navigation keys to make access to FM even easier. The phone has a 5 way navigation button which provides allows even easier access to the other applications of the phone.
The phone has an internal memory of 64MB.The battery of the phone allows a talk time of 10 hours and an FM listening time of about 24 hours.
The best feature of the phone is its FM radio. As the phone comes with an inbuilt antenna, the user no longer has to search for a pair of headphones to connect to the phone to listen to the radio. The phone also has decent inbuilt loudspeakers allowing the user to listen to the radio comfortably. A special ‘quirk’ of the phone is its radio transmitter which allows the user to broadcast music as a radio station for others to tune into.
Other features of the phone are standard ones like a clock, alarm, a convertor and a spreadsheet. The radio can be set as an alarm. The phone also has a torch which can be switched on easily by just pressing a key on the phone. See the official page.
One disadvantage of the phone is its lack of any interesting options. The FM transmitter is not very clear especially after interference with actual broadcasts.
The Nokia 5030 XpressRadio is a decent buy for anyone on a budget.
