Apple-iPadIt is easy to tell when something is going to be a major part of our daily lives, and judging from Steve Job’s recent presentation, it will not be long before we see the iPad as a constant in many homes and work desks.

Mobile phone operators in the UK certainly agree with that vision. It has already been reported that Orange Mobile UK is in talks with Apple regarding subsidizing the device in the region. While O2 and Vodafone have not started negotiations with Apple, it is inevitable that they will do so in the future.

As seen with O2’s two year success with the iPhone prior to the end of their exclusive hold on the device last October, Apple products are very popular to the entire mobile market. Orange Mobile and Tesco also started offering the device last year and Vodafone launched the iPhone mid January this year. During Vodafone’s first week of sales, they sold 100,000 iPhone handsets despite the fact that the shadow of the iPhone 4G is looming sometime ahead this year.

The iPad is not exception to Apple’s golden touch; already it has impressed and captivated the hearts and minds of many critics. Though some are still pretty anti-Apple in their criticisms over the device, no one can deny the fact that the unveiling of the iPad showed that our society really does have need of such an electronic device.

The tablet combines web browsing with games, e-books, and even a little office work (with iWork and the on screen virtual keyboard). At the moment, the iPad still lacks a few integral features such as flash support and multi tasking, but we are confident that these options will eventually be put in (just like copy and pasting on the old iPhone).
