Samsung the South Korean Phone Maker announced on Wednesday the launch of its new Pocket Media Software solution into the Latin American Market. This is in partnership with Ubitus Inc., which is a leader in the software platform sector for fixed-mobile convergence applications. The performance will be during the ongoing month.
This new solution introduced by Samsung of South Korea is coming to the Latin American market with integrated cloud technology from Ubitus. The new Pocket Media has the capacity to easily outpace Media codec/formats’ barriers, while also being developed to adapt “Live/instant content” to the network while also delivering optimized experience to all users.
According to Samsung, the new Pocket Media is aimed at enabling users “Pocket all of their Media Entertainment.” This also means that Mobile Phone users can enjoy while on the move content sharing from their home Computers, from friend’s computer or even Mobile Phones. These contents include videos, music, photos, the company also states.
Samsung also announced that the Pocket Media comes preloaded on its Samsung Omnia II (I800) Mobile Phone, powered by Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 professional operating system. The handset is said to deliver the largest Touch screen display ever available in Brazil on any Mobile Phone. It is however worthy of mention that this will only be the debut of Pocket Media in the area, as Samsung intends to include it in other Samsung devices in various other regions, remarked the Phone maker.
The Pocket Media now supports input and output codecs which include FLV, WMV and 3GP among others. Mainstream image and music formats can also be shared inside. Users of the Pocket Media can also retrieve the contents in their computers at home via Samsung Mobiles get contents from buddies and chat with buddies’ mobiles or computers all through streaming or downloading Samsung stated.
